T’a Milano Panettone: a sweet return to tradition combined with creativity.

Gioacchino Alemagna, great grandfather of the T’a Milano founders Tancredi and Alberto and the originator of the Panettone as a traditional Christmas cake, presented his creations in a sumptuously elegant pack inspired by the 1700s boxes used by aristocratic families to store their hats while travelling. This “hat box” won the WorldStar Packaging Award in 1958 and is still a delightful designer object to be given as a gift, displayed and used in the home. All the T’a Milano 1 kg Panettone versions are also available in a Luxury Box, including the classic Panettone with just raisins and no candied peel.

The Panettone without Candied Peel in a Luxury Box pairs perfectly with a whisky- or rum- flavoured mascarpone cream.

RECIPE FOR WHISKY- OR RUM-FLAVOURED MASCARPONE CREAM

Ingredients:
180 g granulated sugar
35 g water
4 egg yolks
340 g cream
380 g Mascarpone cheese
30 g Whisky/Rum cream
Method:
Whip the cream and set it aside.

Pour the sugar and water into a saucepan and heat to 121°C (to determine the temperature, use a kitchen thermometer or take off the heat when small white bubbles start to form).
In the meantime, beat the yolks. When the syrup reaches 121°C, drizzle it over the yolks, beating continuously.
Beat until fully cooled. Mix the mascarpone in a bowl, slowly add the egg yolk and syrup mixture, then slowly add the cream. Finally, stir in the Whisky or Rum cream. Mix well. The mixture is now ready to serve.
Store in the refrigerator.
